Located in sunny Saint Petersburg, FL, Leverage The Net has been developing software applications for over 13 years. Originally incorporated as DS Technologies, the company rebranded itself to represent the evolution of it's services: a suite of products that helps you "Leverage The Net". Incorporated in 2001, DS Technologies was primarily a consulting firm that built custom software applications from scratch. While the tools are different, the architecture was the same as today - web based. Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator were the popular browsers, consuming data served up by Active Server Pages with a Microsoft Data Engine database. "At that time, we were servicing clients in retail and financial industries, but we were hungry. I know we did at least one Microsoft Access VBA project. We even dabbled in settting up hardware; but we never tried that again." --Stephen Tuttle, President, LTN. Fast forward to 2004. After 6 months of negotiating with a prospect, DS Tech nixed the project. "There was too much risk, not enough reward. It was just a bad deal." DS Tech had switched to using PHP/MySQL for the backend, and it was time to rethink processes. "I felt there had to be an easier way to build applications, so I started drawing up a framework design on a 3' x 4' whiteboard". That framework has evolved into Fulcrum, the infrastructure that all LTN applications are built on. Fulcrum runs applications for several sectors, including retail, wholesale, consulting and service based organizations. "The purpose of Fulcrum is to give you access to all your clients and their data, but it doesn't end there. Fulcrum builds a bridge to your clients and prospects, allowing them to create and maintain their own data. It's all about generating new and repeat business." |
